For the first time in the world youtube views were transformed into donations. There’s a little-known mechanism on YouTube that generates money for the videos according to the number of views. We turned this system into a donations channel for an NGO that takes care of children in need. With a video portal we invited famous YouTube Channels to produce exclusive content. With the views, all the advertising money were directed to Obra do Berço.
The more views, the more money. Famous youtubers joined the campaign, including the 2 biggest in Brazil. More than 4 million views in first two months, 53 million people impacted in more than 50 countries. With the visibility of the project, what started as an idea for a video is now becoming a start-up company. An online platform to help not only Obra do Berço but other NGOs in Brazil and worldwide.
